How can I help the children?

The Bal Sewa Griha Children's Center
receives no support from the government of Nepal and relies on outside sponsors, in addition to the personal contributions of our leadership. Please consider donating to BSG to make a difference in many children's lives.

For less than the cost of your daily cup of coffee, you can make life possible for a needy child in Nepal. It may be only $3 a day for you, but it makes a world of difference for our children!

What are your operational costs?

BSG operates on a monthly budget of 3,500 USD (Rs 350,000).
We spend $100 (Rs 10,000) per month for each child who lives in the orphanage home, and $50 (Rs 5,000) for each child who does not live in the home but receives other services. Our leadership receives no compensation for their work. All donations will be used for the following purposes:

• Housing (rent, maintenance, furnishing)
• Utilities (clean drinking water, electricity)
• Food
• School fees (tuition, books, materials, uniforms)
• Healthcare
• Vocational training
• Wages for staffed caregivers

What does my donation provide?
You may make a contribution to BSG of any amount. We encourage you to become a sponsor and provide monthly gifts to ensure the continued care of our children.

$10: Hot meals and drinking water for one child for one month

$35: Education for one child for one month

$50: Non-residential services for one child for one month

$100: Full services, including residential, for one child for one month

I would like to donate items to the children!

Our children cherish all of their possessions, and any gifts will make a big difference to them. If you or anyone you know are coming to Nepal, consider bringing any useful items for the children. We greatly appreciate the consideration.

Note: We recommend that material donations to the children be purchased here in Nepal. Not only are most items less expensive, but it would also help the country's economy. In addition, this would avoid any logistical tasks of shipping or traveling. Therefore, you may make a donation earmarked for specific purposes, such as "for school uniforms." We encourage any material donations to be secondhand, as new items can be purchased here more efficiently.

  1. Educational material: English-language books of all levels, reference books, textbooks, magazines, science kits, etc.
  2. School supplies: Pens, pencils, erasers, rulers, calculators, notebooks, etc.
  3. Art supplies: Watercolors, paints, brushes, crayons, colored pencils, markers, sketchbooks, modeling clay, etc.
  4. Sports and Games: football (soccer), badminton, table tennis, board games, cards, toys for young children
  5. Electronics: laptop, speakers, USB drives, printer, music player (with music loaded), camera, hard drive, internet router, SIM-compatible phones
  6. Musical instruments
  7. Clothing and Shoes
  8. First aid kits
  9. Anything you feel children would love! (Please nothing resembling drug paraphernalia, weapons, or other items inappropriate for children.)
