Gaumati Tamata was born in poor family of Darchula District Village Chapari Ward NO. 5 Malera, in the Far West of Nepal. As a child she dreamed of working for the poor, the helpless children, and depressed people of her society. In her village those people did not get education, sufficient food, and there was no development in terms of schools, bridge for transport, electricity, etc, so she started thinking about the future of homeless children of her village.

One day she got a chance to come Kathmandu from her village Though she is now familiar with city life in Kathmandu, she always thinks about her village. Since 1987 she has been working in the social field. After she met Mr. Tamata, they decided to work for the welfare of orphans, poor and homeless children of Nepal. In 1995 they established the Children Welfare Home. She is Founder Member Treasurer of CWH. She wishes to continue working for the children, and devote her life to this activity.
