Biographies of the children
A typical weekday at the CWH
The children at the CWH get up at 6 a.m., clean their rooms, wash, before having a classroom session till 8 a.m. They have lunch after session. The school starts at 9.30 a.m. After returning from school between 3-4 p.m., they have snacks (Tiffin) and free time for half an hour. The children have classroom session again between 4.30-6.30 p.m. then they have another free time between 6.30-7 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. After dinner, they go back to their rooms, play, rest, or prepare for the next day. They usually go to bed at 9.30 p.m. School is from Sunday to Friday.
Special days
Every Friday, after getting home from school, we provide them special activities. This is usually a dance or sports activity. Saturdays are the rest days that we devote to washing, cleaning the Home, and a movie in the afternoon. Saturday is also a special day for personal hygiene, bathing, etc.
Holidays
During holidays, the children can concentrate more on learning from our volunteers (English, arts, etc.). In these times, our children have more time to do sports, play their favourite games, read novels. We also organise one-day trips to popular destinations in the Kathmandu Valley.
